Get the family in for free!

Here is a little trick that I learned from a friend while living in Florida. He was a timeshare salesman and had the ability to give away free tickets to Disney.

Now, Disney costs somewhere around $100 a pop, so if you have a family of five, that's $500 for a day. Ew. Now, what would you do if I said I knew how to get you in for free? You would probably jump at the chance.

All you really have to do to get in for free is go see a timeshare presentation. At the end you can say no but still walk away with free tickets. I can't reccomend a specific timeshare for you, but many of them offer this or something else that's really cool. Look up a couple online and see what they have to offer you.

Re: Get the family in for free!

Do they actually give you the tickets? I bet they pressure the hell out of you.

I guess it's not something I'd do, because It'd mean I would've wasted a day of my vacation and that's just too precious.

They do give you the tickets, and they do pressure the hell out of you. Unfortunately you won't get away from it without some serious sales pitches. These guys are good at what they do. However, there are some time shares that are worth it, but I won't get into all of that mess. I do know some people that have gotten great deals for some great time shares with no blackout dates.

Re: Get the family in for free!

Thanks for the great tip scheda. That sounds like a pretty decent way to score some free tickets.

How long do one of these presentations last? Like spondishy, I would not want to waste a day of my vacation, but a few hours wouldn't be too bad.

I believe the presentations are approximately three hours or so. If you're actually looking for a timeshare it's probably a good idea, but I can't stand pushy salesmen and you're guaranteed to meet some of these if they're giving you tickets.

Re: Get the family in for free!

Wow! That sounds like a fantastic deal for getting to view some great opportunities. I suppose if you had a time share condo, then you'd save a bundle on your hotel fees in your future trips to Orlando.

I think spending a day of your vacation at one of these presentations would be well worth the free tickets. You could just take the extra day off of work and it would still be a great value.

Thanks for the tips. I'm looking to see what the prices of time shares are running these days.

Talking Great deal on Disney without timeshare presentation

Hi. We just booked our Disney vaca and I originally was planning to do the timeshare thing for free tickets and/or reduced lodging. Believe it or not, I got a better deal (I believe) through my Travel Agent.

Original plan: I went online and got a res for the Ramada Gateway Plaza, which seemed pretty nice for the discounted rate of $169 including tax for 5 nights for Dec 19-24. I chose the discounted rate instead of the tickets, since the tickets are only for 1 day anyhow and getting a 4 day park hopper is only a few dollars less than a five day. Seems great, right? Other than the obvious downside of having to endure a 2 hour presentation (I knew my kids wouldn't be thrilled), transportation from Orlando airport is not included and that seems to be $100 everywhere. Also, bus to WDW is not always reliable, as it is an outside company and stops at lots of hotels on the way.

New plan: Called TA and we wound up getting the All-Star Sport for $325 for the 5 nights which included transp from the airport. This made the difference between the two hotels about $55 total, or $11 per night. The ticket prices were the same as the lowest I found online, and the dining option was added on. For me, staying onsite, having very reliable transportation to the parks, the option of the meal plan discount and less all around hassle worth the $11/night. I used a discount code I found on MouseSavers.com - Disney Discount - Disney World Discounts - Disneyland Discounts that I gave my TA. Also, as long as the c/i date of your reservation is "value season", the whole stay is calculated at that rate. (19th Dec. is value, 20th begins high holiday season) Good luck

Re: Get the family in for free!

I have heard about receiving incentives for sitting at a seminar for part of the day. I did not know about the possibility of receiving some free Orlando Disney Theme Park tickets as a reward for considering a purchase in time share. That's sounding like a very generous offer. I have not considered a time share purchase in the past and it is something that I may look into.

Re: Get the family in for free!

I'd be careful going for the freebie if you don't want to buy - unless things have changed there are some very high pressure sales tactics at this kind of thing.

If you are interested, and are aware of how it works / the risks, etc, then I think it would be an interesting idea, and a nice bonus!

It always takes longer than they say.... Then they bring over someone else when you say no and double team you... NOT WORTH IT IN MY OPINION
