Walt Disney World Fastpass Information

Everyone that visits the Disney Parks should make full use of the fastpass ticket system. The fastpass ticket system basically lets you get a ticket from outside the attraction. This ticket has a time on it that allows you to return back to the attraction after a designated time. You can then join the fastpass queue for the attraction instead of standing in the regular line.

If the fastpass system is working correctly, your wait time in the fastpass line should be no more than ten minutes (and usually a lot less).

Here's a list of attractions where you can get fastpass tickets.

Magic Kingdom

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Buzz Lightyear
Jungle Cruise
Peter Pan's Magic Flight
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Winnie the Pooh

MGM Studios

Indiana Jones
Rock n Roll Roller Coaster
Star Tours
Tower of Terror
Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Animal Kingdom

Dinosaur
Expedition Everest
Kali River Rapids
Kilimanjaro Safari
It's Tough to be a Bug
Primeval Whirl

EPCOT

Soarin'
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Test Track
Living with the Land
Maelstrom
Mission Space

Thanks for the info. Do the Universal Parks have a fastpass system.

Universal Orlando offer something called "Express Pass" at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

This used to be free, but it is a paid option now.

I would rather use these express tickets or queues instead of queuing up all day, I would mind forking out a bit more cash either if it means I get to explore more.
How much roughly do these cost?

This depends on the season. As with everything you pay more for the express pass in high season. I believe it costs between an extra $15 - $40 extra for the Universal Express Plus Pass.

I think if you stop at a Universal Orlando Resort Hotel, that this is free.

Re: Walt Disney World Fastpass Information

This Fastpass system seems like the way to go. I remember standing in lines for hours when I went to Disneyland as a kid. Waiting in line for ten minutes or less sounds much more enjoyable.
Does the Fastpass system cause the lines to be longer for the people not using the pass? I would think with all of these Fastpass users cutting to the head of the line everyone else would be waiting even longer.

I guess there's an argument for that. In theory you'll be quick in one line and queue for longer at another ride. That said the queue for Soarin' at EPCOT was 80 minutes (and that was in January). I got fastpasses and had some food and a drink whilst waiting, so I know what I prefer.

The FastPass seems like the way to go. I think I would definitely take advantage of this, definitely would be worth it in my opinion. I would definitely not mind spending some extra cash to save a little bit of time. Thanks for sharing this information, it is very useful.

Re: Walt Disney World Fastpass Information

Oh, wow. So instead of standing there holding your place in line, you can sort of make an appointment to return at a designated time. Like making a reservation. Are these queued up evenly so that only so many guests are put in each slot. Or is this like playing roulette?

I think I'll steer away from the express pass for now and just do my best to enjoy everything I can get access to normally.

But when the time comes again, I may consider this option if it is available for the lower end price that you mentioned.

Re: Walt Disney World Fastpass Information

I'm definately interested in getting a fast pass to Orlando Disney's Space Mountain.
First I'll have to consider if Space Mountain is going to be easily accessible with my possible extra tag along of a cart or wheelchair. I have some heavy planning to do and hope I can obtain a fast pass for this attraction.
I wonder how long I have to wait in line for the fast pass itself.
