Hi

We are on Vodaphone here in the uk - would it be cheaper for us to purchase a pay as you go phone in orlando?

You can get dirt cheap PAYG phones from Walmart, around $20-30 if you're not fussy. Also, I believe with some carriers it's free calls between the phones, so if you get two you can call each other if your party splits up.

To give you an idea of charges, this one's from Virgin.

International Phone Rates

As an alternative, if you have a tri-band phone, this company sells US enabled sims.

International SIM cards and more from 0044.co.uk (Global SIM cards)

Alternatively, you could buy a phone card to use on public phones.
