Dixie Stampede Closes Down
Just read this over at the Orlando Sentinel Site.
Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede dinner theater in Orlando sold, closed -- OrlandoSentinel.com From reading the article, the owners say that trading is good but they've sold the land off. So the land must have been worth more than the actual business I guess. Feel real sorry for the 200 or so staff they're letting go/relocating to new posts. |

Re: Dixie Stampede Closes Down
This is a sad day for Florida. This show was FAR better than the Arabian nights show which is touted as the greatest show in Orlando!!! What rubbish!!! My wife and I walked out of this show on our honeymoon as they are cruel to the animals a little. They seem to be more concearned about looking good and showing off than the welfare of the animals.

Re: Dixie Stampede Closes Down
Just as an update, it turns out that the nearby Premium Outlet mall is the new owner of the former Dixie Stampede-occupied land. They purchased it for "over $23 million" and will be expanding their mall onto the newly acquired property.
