Obstructed view HRH or RPR?
I initially booked a room at RPR for 5 nights in January. HRH was quite a bit more expensive (there was no supersaver rate posted when I initially made my ressie). I called Universal today and I can get an obstructed view room at HRH for $12 more per night with an AAA discount. There will be myself, DS6, DD16 and DD's friend 17.
Should I get the unobstructed view at HRH or standard view at RPR? Last edited by magoo; 10-19-2007 at 11:31 AM. |

Re: Obstructed view HRH or RPR?
Hi Magoo,
I went for the obstructed view at the Hard Rock Hotel Orlando. My main reasoning is that the HRH is a fantastic hotel, and personally I don't spend that much time looking out of the window. What view did you have at Royal Pacific? Standard, Water etc? Also bear in mind, a standard room at Hard Rock Hotel is 375 sq feet, whereas at Royal Pacific they're 335. |

Re: Obstructed view HRH or RPR?
At the RPR I had booked a standard view.
What kind of view did you have in your obstructed view room? I'm thinking that we will not be in the room looking outside much either - just would like to be able to check out in the morning to see if it's sunny or cloudy ![]() |

Re: Obstructed view HRH or RPR?
The obstructed views are sometimes only a palm tree in front of the window, or a roof below your window. It really depends, and I guess that's the chance you take...
Phone Hard Rock Hotel and ask them what the worst obstructed view is, then you'll know the worst case scenario. Look forward to you reporting back on this one. |

Re: Obstructed view HRH or RPR?
I did ask that question and she told me what you just said - a palm tree, roof of a lower floor or parking lot. I asked if there were any that had a completely blocked view preventing any view of the outside world and she said she did not think so. She also mentioned that they were scattered throughout the hotel and not just in one area - so I'm thinking there won't be any with a brick wall in front of the window or something like that!

I've heard some have half-decent views and can see the Hulk Roller Coaster for example. I guess it's all down to chance, but you are going at a quietish time of year, so you might be able to pick and choose

That's what I'm hoping - or a Loews First upgrade - if they offer upgrades on obstructed view rooms - I would assume so???
