Universal Express Plus Passes

In the day’s of old, Universal Orlando operated a system very similar to the virtual queueing Fastpass system operated at the Disney parks. Basically you collected an Express ticket outside the attraction and returned at the alloted time to ride/visit the attraction and bypassed the line.

Universal changed their system by making visitors pay for this priveledge in the form of the Universal Express Plus Pass.

How does the Universal Express Plus Pass work?

You simply show your Express Plus Pass ticket the the attraction attendant and you can bypass the line.

So I can use my Universal Express Plus Pass all day long?

There is a restriction where you can only use the Express Pass ticket once for each attraction. If you’ve used your Express Pass on an attraction, you’ll have to wait in the normal line to ride/visit again.

What does the Universal Express Plus Pass cost?

Currently there’s the 2 Park Universal Express Plus Pass (1 Day) where your Express Pass will be valid at most Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure attractions. Alternatively the 1 Park Universal Express Plus Pass (1 Day) will be valid at either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure (not both). The cost of the tickets vary depending of the time of the year and currently the most expensive ticket is $50.99. Visit the Universal Express Pass page for up-to-date pricing.

It’s kind of expensive?

It certainly would add up if you were purchasing the Express Plus ticket for a whole family ($200+ for a family of four on-peak). As an alternative, if you stay at a resort hotel, Express Plus is free. You simply show your room key at the ride entrance.
